HOME IS a feeling, NOT A FORMULA.
I’m Winnie James — stylist, floral designer and slow-living storyteller. I help you create warm, modern-heirloom homes with seasonal flowers, collected objects and rituals that actually fit real life.
01 — About Winnie James
A collector of quiet moments & sunlit corners.
“I started winniejames.com at my kitchen table with a $12 market bouquet and a belief: beautiful homes aren’t bought, they’re layered — story by story, season by season.”
Winnie James began as a weekend flower stand in 2016 and grew into a home & lifestyle atelier known for earthy palettes, sculptural branches, vintage finds and tables that make people linger. No stark showrooms. No fast decor. Just homes that hug you back.
Today the studio designs florals for gatherings, styles interiors for young families and old souls, and publishes honest guides on the Journal — from $30 centrepieces to full-room refreshes under $500.
- What we do: floral design, interior styling, tablescaping workshops, seasonal lookbooks.
- How we work: natural textures, low-waste florals, vintage-first sourcing, foam-free mechanics.
- Where: studio visits by appointment + online guides for everywhere.

03 — Philosophy
Slow home manifesto.
1. Buy once, love long.
Choose oak over particleboard, linen over polyester, vintage over viral. Patina is luxury.
2. Season first.
Let the calendar decorate for you: quince in February, peonies in May, grasses in September, citrus + pine in December.
3. Style for touch.
If you can’t imagine bare feet, coffee rings and dog naps there — it’s not finished.
“Perfection is cold. A slightly crooked stem, a chipped rim, a book left open — that’s where home lives.”
— Winnie James, founder
“Winnie turned our rental into somewhere we never want to leave. One Saturday, $400, all vintage.”
— Maya R., reader“Her table workshop changed how I host. Everyone stayed two hours longer.”
— Priya S., workshop guest“Finally, styling advice that isn’t beige-box minimalism. Warm, real, doable.”
